A: You can get a copy of the Union contract at the NAF Personnel office or by asking your supervisor.
Q: Can I get into trouble for calling the Union?
A: No. According to the Federal Statute, Section 7116 (a)(4), It is an Unfair Labor Practice to discipline or otherwise discriminate against an employee because the employee has filed a complaint, affidavit, or petition, or has given any testimony or information. There are laws and a contract that protects you from reprisal.
Q: Can my supervisor change my hours of work?
A: Yes. A supervisor has a right to schedule employees to meet the needs of the business. However, there are rules they must follow in the contract before they change your work schedule. Article 16 Section 1 & 2 of the Union Contract.
Q: Are Flexible employees eligible to join the Union?
A: Yes. Flexible employees are eligible to join the Union and are covered under the contract as well. Flex make up a good portion of our membership.
Q: How Long do I have to file a grievance?
A: 30 days from the date of the incident as outlined in Article 28 Section 5 of the Union Contract.
Q: When are our membership meetings?
A: Membership meetings take place on the last Wednesday of every month. If a holiday falls on the last Wednesday of the month then the meeting will be held on the Wednesday before. The meeting starts at 6:15pm and for the time being, location of membership meetings will be posted on the Home page of our website.
Q: Do I get a $100 every time I recruit a new member?
A: No. We offer rebates during certain times of the year. We do not offer rebates on a continuous basis.
Q: My boss doesn't say good morning to me, can I file a grievance?
A: No. In order to file a grievance, your boss has to have violated a rule in the contract. If you need help determining if you have a grievance please contact your steward asap. Click Here to locate your steward.

A: You should ask for a Union Rep. whenever you are questioned by management, and you believe that that discussion can lead to discipline. You have a right under Federal Law to ask for a Union Representative prior to answering any questions. It's called your "Weingarten Rights."
